To Mother on Her Birthday
Dear Mother we have met here to greet thee
day of thy birth
When thy noble spirit descended from
To dwell upon the earth,
To take upon it this
And pass through the changes of life;
infancy, childhood, and youth,
And to be mother and wife.
Thou hast nobly filled thy mission,
And we rejoice
At the good age of sixty,
Thou cans't have
With thy friends and relatives, who
seen thy good works here;
In the heart of each one present
memory is held most dear.
We are not all who appreciate thee,
Many more will
That thou hast extended a helping hand,
in a trying day.
Thou hast assisted the poor and needy,
comforted those in distress,
Mourners have received consolation,
by thee have been blessed.
You have borne many trials,
And trials yet may come.
Satan will never cease to annoy,
Until the victory
of life is won.
You are brave and tolerant, Mother,
your enemies upon you frown,
Remembering every surmounted
Adds another laurel to your crown.
bravely walked in the path of life,
Which others dare
You have put your shoulder to the Wheel,
trusted in God.
The victor’s crown awaits thee,
On that bright celestial
Thou are beloved dear mother
Now and forever
We are all seeking to bless thee,
As thou art
Our tales of love and affection,
never as yet half told.

Dear sister we heartily greet thee
And rejoice in
the good thou hast done,
For thy constant devotion in
Has surely our sympathy won.
and affliction surround us,
Thy heart ever true to the
Leads thee forth in the spirit of kindness
teach us of God and His laws.
Long, long may thy life
To benefit those who may need
in hours of affliction,
Which from sorrow to happiness
For we know that in past times the downcast,
When bowed down in sorrow and grief,
unto thee with assurance,
To administer needed relief.
thy future be peace, and contentment,
May all earthly
blessings be thine,
May thee and thy family forever,
the blessed in eternity shine.
For the Lord God of Israel
Great blessings, the faithful await,
who sacredly cling to the covenants,
Which they made
at baptismal’s gate.
